Robert Rackstraw has been found dead in his condominium. He was 75. The FBI had officially ended its investigation years ago. I had the chance to speak to one of the lead investigators after he spoke at DEFCON last year, who was releasing some new information related to the case. Here is my post that links to the new material.

New Zealand Story

How is the heck is this real?  From the article:

The Customs and Excise Act 2018 – which comes into effect today – sets guidelines around how Customs can carry out “digital strip-searches”.wtf

Previously, Customs could stop anyone at the border and demand to see their electronic devices. However, the law did not specify that people had to also provide a password.

Not all of this information is easy to find, so I hope this will help with the spread of this knowledge. Credit to N1RWY and his website for getting me going. The write up below adds my personal experience and warnings of pitfalls to his setup.  Link to Google Search for his site (I didn't link direct into his page, but you will find him at the top of the search.  His page contains some very intrusive ads and I think his page is being re-tooled. )

Check out this news story from  California made headlines when a judge ruled that coffee retailers had to include a cancer warning on their cups of coffee.    “If California’s regulators side with the OEHHA, the initial ruling from the L.A.Superior Court will be null and void.”

D.B. Cooper Information released on 8/8/18

This is just the latest information to be released on this supposed closed case with the FBI.  This information was presented and discussed a day before this release at a Security Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.   I had a chance to talk to former FBI Investigator Jim Christy about this, and his theories behind why the case is closed and no longer pursued even by Cold Case Investigators.  We will discuss these theories at a later date.  Enjoy the Coding methods reading!
